An Inspiration Challenge

A couple of days ago I challenged the ladies and gentlemen on Lib-Quilters to take their camera with them where ever they went, even if it was just to the supermarket, and to look for inspiration.

Not necessarily liberated, but any form of inspiration.

Today we went to Angouleme which is so full of inspiration my brain positively hurts with trying to take photos of everything in sight.

Hmmm - interesting.
Black and white with a hint of citrus perhaps?

The day I attempt a quilt like this is the day you know I've
lost the plot!

Can we do joined up letters I wonder?
Don't you just love those reflections!!

Not so much inspiration as intriging.

Inspiration?

Going through my photos for last month I found these.  I forgot I'd taken them.  How could I!

If you were presented with a quilt pattern like this what would you do with it?

I can see solids.

I might do something weird and wonderful once the marathon sew-in is over.

Out and About in Dordognefordshire

So called because of the huge English contingent, which does seem to be getting smaller as more people up sticks and return to their native soil.

I'm going to take you out and about today - reviewing some of the photos I've taken over the last month.

Perhaps this will be become a regular feature.  Who can tell.  Makes a change instead waffling on about The Boring Quilt.

Right - lets see what photos  Blogger will let me upload today.  They were playing silly B's yesterday and although I uploaded all 3 at once, when I went back to insert the other 2 they weren't there!  Not funny if you are on limited broadband.

First off.
The sun breaking through the clouds on what started out as a pretty gruesome day.

Breaking Through

Are You Sitting Comfortably?

Seen in Thiviers a few weeks ago.  It wasn't until I looked at the photo again for the 365 Project that I realised the vertical lines in the photo.  Look at the drain pipes on the left, then the chair legs and then the window display.  Kinda cool!

My 3 girls.
Not really Dordognefordshire - more Charente.

We had a lovely day last week mucking about in Angouleme.
Do you know who is who?  They grow up so fast!

Mr Marco the Walnut Picker

Our lovely neighbour collecting our walnuts by hand.
The big plantations pick mechanically, but us poor people have to wait for the wind and rain to bring them down and then get aching backs and black hands!

Autumn Morning
We come round full circle.
This is the opposite of the first photo.

The sun broke through the mist and the day looked as if it was going to be glorious.
4 hours later it was dark, grey and miserable;

Heigh ho!

Hope you enjoyed yourself.

Let me know if you think this should become a sort of regular feature.

Not a lot of quilting going on

Alex is on holiday, complaining bitterly that she is bored, bored, bored. What's new.

Last week we went up to Angouleme looking for Converse. DS-D had promised Alex a pair as part of her Christmas and birthday presents. She's been looking for ages in the UK, but none of them have been the right colour. We decided to start looking over here - a bit more expensive but at least we knew they would fit AND, most importantly, they were the right ones. Angouleme did not have the right ones - well they did, but not in her size. I've never walked round a town so many times looking for shoe shops "just in case". However, I did come across these.

And then, would you believe, this!

Roof Terrace in Angouleme

I'm serious - this is for real!  Can you imagine entertaining your friends, sitting on this balcony having an aperitif or digestif and every passer-by watching you!

Got a lot of things to do between now and Monday next when I am off on my jaunt.  I hope to upload towards the end of this week the latest progess on Crumbs from my Table, which, even if I say so myself, is looking good after a bit of re-arranging.

Yes.  We did find her some Converse in the end.  Nontron of all places came up truhpim2223.jpgmps!
