A Start

I've made a start on the family quilt. Not too keen on that house. I must have been half asleep when I made it. I forgot to sew on the background strips on either side before putting the roof on so the roof doesn't overlap, and also "forgot" to put the roof fabric on the background fabric before cutting it out so had to wing it! Not too sure about that top R either. Quite like the slanted words though - unusual. Things always look different in the cold light of day don't they. I might not show this again until I've done the centre as I'm busy hand qulting Liquorice Lane and I think we are nearing the finishing line! Have a great weekend and if you are in Western Europe isn't this weekend the clocks go forward?

Next weekend my dear! March 29th it will be summertime, summertime, sum sum summertime!

Love your CLARE word! The house could do with a barn, a Périgord barn and some hills, a swimmingpool and lots of flowers!

Happy Weekend!

Take another look at the house. I like it, I like the yellow for the windows and doors. If you included some more you might like this one better. Great start.

don't toss the "R" or house from the plan yet! perhaps the things that "bother" you now may be the very way they are wonky compared to the others when the others exist... :-)

This is going to be a wonderful quilt, Clare. I love how your name came out, and I think the house may work out well in the final context...love the "R", too, so don't cast it aside just yet. Can't wait to see it develop...keep posting about it -- we want to see!

Never toss a wonky block...later it may be just the thing you need for that wonky quilt!

(wonky is now the two year old girl next door's favorite word...her Mom is wondering where she picked it up? Whooops!)

Hi Clare! I am Darling Millie's sister. I love your bright colors as well (can you tell I love bright colors?) I just think the legs of the "R" need to be lengthened, otherwise it is great! And personally, I love the house. I think it has character.
Thank you for the wonderful compliment on Cassie's quilt. I am particularly proud of it.

Oh good for you, starting a new quilt! I have a word quilt in the back of my brain too but haven't had the energy to do more than dream about it.

Loved the signs in a previous post. Can't wait to see what you've won either!

Hi Clare! I am asking Lynne what to do about the no reply email thing, because I don't know what it is. She'll help me.
As for Richard Hammond, yes, I love him, he's so cute. Did you see the episode where they went caravaning? That one is even funnier. Also, the lorry episode had us all crying we were laughing so hard.
