Narrow Escape

Just had to share this. Took Alex to the bus this morning, with Magic the cat in tow, as is normal. She (Magic) has been very skittish lately and a bit of a disobedient madam which is very unlike her. Anyway, she flatly refused to stand by the side of the road with us and sat slap bang in the middle of the road. Along comes car going very fast. Magic runs to the verge on the opposite side of the road to us, decides she is on the wrong side and starts to run back to us, gets dazzled by car headlights and runs back to the verge, very nearly loosing her life in the process. The driver must have heard Alex and I screaming and shouting as he slowed right down. Magic is banned from the "bus walk" from now on!

Well, that's one of her 9 lives gone.

Magic is one lucky cat.

that is terrifying. You could get her one of those cat-walking harnesses and leash... I'm not sure how my cats would react to that. I think Lily would love to go out and explore, but it would terrify her at the same time.

Gosh - that would have been an aweful situation to deal with if she'd been less lucky both for you personally and with Alex. Thank goodness Magic was okay

Bad kitty! Mine are sneaking out with me in the morning now too - luckily outside our door in a common enclosed area... Although truth be told, mine are skittish our outside any way!

Glad to hear Magic made it home safely! My cat Goldie likes to come with us on the morning walk but she waits at the end of the path because she is afraid of the sheep at the end of the lane!

interesting to hear of your connection with Hereford Clare - small world eh? and the rowing - we have very dear German friends who come from Lubeck and are both heavily into rowing - in fact he missed going to the 1980 Olympics to represent his country because of the Russian/Afghanistan embargo
