Quilts for Leukaemia

I know I keep on about this, but I had an idea while hanging out the washing. If you want to take part, but haven't got the time to make up a complete quilt, then how about a block (with your initials sewn into it somewhere) which can then be sent to me. I will put the whole lot together, quilt as per your instructions for your block, and then hand the whole quilt over to Sophie. My Dutch friend has offered to give a hand with the quilting side. At the moment, Pippa, bless her heart, is the only other person making a quilt for this worthwhile cause. Interested? Either leave a comment or PM me. Friday : For Hedgehog - http://dordognequilter.blogspot.com/2006/06/leukaemia-and-quilts.html. Thanks for offering - really appreciated. Colours will probably be red and white, but yet to be confirmed as waiting for Soph to pop her head up.

I haven't seen your earlier posts about quilts for leukemia - is it local? larger? I'd be happy to do something - although probably something little like a block b/c there is an ocean between me and my stash and most of my scraps.

Thanks for the link, Clare. What kind of time frame were you thinking? I'll put a link to your blog on mine, too - not that I have so many readers, but it might help to spread the word!

Hi everyone!

That sounds like a really good idea!

The Leukaemia Research Fund's colours are red and white (please see their site at www.lrf.org.uk). Their logo has a the outlike of a little white flower and this represents red and white blood cells, as leukaemia is blood cancer obviously!

If you want to know a little bit more about me and Floyd, have a peek here:

We are just about to embark on a charity walk with Ian Botham on October 9th to help raise funds for L.R. and also the Teenage Cancer Trust.

Both charities rely heavily on fund raising as they are not government funded - so every little helps!

Thank you so much for your thoughts on doing something to help!!!

Hi Clare!

Thanks for informing me about the quilt project for Leukaemia and the corresponding links! A worthy cause - definetly!!

You are needing 8" blocks in red and white is that correct? I would love to participate and will stitch some blocks in the next few days and get them in the mail to you!

I will also post a note on my blog to help spread the news...

Thanks!!
