I still haven't quite got the hang these - they really are either incredibly wonky or liberated, depending on which side of the fence you sit.
Yes Tonya, I know the one bottom right hasn't got any contrast on the left hand point, but I'm still practising. Actually that particular star is my favourite.
The one on the left has got another Clare's DOH. I'm beginning to think that every single quilt I make will have a DOH in it!
There is a new shop in Brantôme selling Egyptian glass, ornaments, furniture and other bits and pieces, including appliqué cushion covers and throws. Couldn't get a photo of the throws and only managed to get this one when the proprietor's back was turned!
Another hot day today. We are getting ready for the Viveurs Annual Summer Meet which means cleaning out the barn, summer cleaning bedrooms and turning the house upside down!
Have a great weekend.

Have you read Roberta Horton's book, Scrap Quilts: The Art of Making Do. You'd find that your doh blocks and the low contrast blocks both have historic precedence in antique scrap quilts. I think they're charming and should be in included in your quilt. They're all great.
I like your stars very much, and despite the washed-out left side, the bottom right is my favorite star, too. The elongation gives it a certain elegance. Ooo la la !
Love that pillow. I go for the wonky, "liberated" look but I also love things that look like tilework.
Had to look up the Viveurs through your link. They're coming to your house?
I love these stars-all of them Claire-I think it is such fun to play with making them
Hi Clare, I like your stretched out star best also. Thanks for asking me to join the Liberated Quiltmakers. I'd love to!
I like the wonky stars and would love to learn how to make them. Yours are very nice!
no problem with low contrast when you know you're doing it! I love the half-washed out block - that is my favorite star too. keep practising, you'll get better.
I agree with Sophie. I love the doh blocks best. They are endearing and add personality.
Doh blocks will just have to become your trademark then Clare :)
I can hardly wait to see how you put the stars together.
oh, these are the wonkiest! i love them.
