Free Piecing Crazy Scraps Challenge

Here we go then! Something to chase away those January blue's which tend to set in after the New Year celebrations. 1. Must be scraps only - nothing from the stash unless it is a "scrap". I suppose FQ's count, but the material mustn't be bought especially for this quilt. 2. No design - go where the scraps want to go. 3. No specific colours. 4. Any size (table runner - small table cloth - cot quilt - wall hanging). 5. Must include Tonya's letters, either upper or lowercase (instructions for the lower case letters can be found on her blog). 6. Must be quilted by hand. I am going to quilt this using Tonya's Fantabulous Fans and shall probably stitch the letters in the ditch. 7. No time limit. What you do with the quilt is entirely up to you. I am keeping this one. Thought it is about time I made something for myself! So what do you think? Oui ou non?

Oui! Except I might machine quilt it - I'll try to fans on another project, though!

I'm interested except for the hand quilting bit. I have a huge quilt on the frame and that is all the hand quilting I can "handle" at a time. We'll see what the new year brings.

Love the idea and love your quilt. It will be fun to see how many rise to your challenge and all the resulting quilts. I'll sit by the side and eagerly watch, as I'm still pledging to start nothing new until a bunch of stuff is done.

Your top turned out so fun and what a great challenge. I'll have to wait to participate until I get to France and have my scraps! I'm missing all my fabric a whole bunch right now.

Non pour moi, I really dislike scrappy quilts (not saying I don't like yours) but for me I like an *order* to my work, I'm not keen on crazy stuff either.

I love this idea! I've been wanting to make a table runner and try the letters, and I always get depressed in January! thanks!

Mmm I might well have a go at this too - I've been merrily filling a drawer here in my workroom over the past few months with all my offcuts and it's getting pretty full which prompted me only the other day to do something with it all - this seems like just the project to do that. Remind me if I don't start to produce something after Christmas - BTW my Shoppi bag arrived last week and I forgot to let u know - thank you so much it's lovely :o)

Oui, I think! It will be something fun to do with scraps - I've a whole bag of strips and pieces that don't fit into the r/w/b string quilts I've been doing. And some other scraps. Should be fun!
