Getting Back into a Rhythm
Temperatures still in the upper 20's and hardly a drop of rain has fallen on Le B for what seems like weeks. Torrential rain over most of the Dordogne last Monday, but hardly a drop here. Rain and thunderstorms are forecast for next Tuesday so we shall see if the weather fairy condescends to chuck some this way!
Despite the heat, melting when I got anywhere near the iron and having to unplug the fan when I use the sewing machine, look what I produced yesterday afternoon.
The bottom border could be a bit straighter and the top one has got a definite wobble in it, but hey isn't that being liberated (or just a tad too liberated :-) ).
Going to start on the last border this afternoon and then it can join the other tops waiting to be quilted.
I tried the new walking foot on The Blues the other day. I don't know whether it is me, or the foot, or the fact that I'm not 100% confident about machine quilting, but the darn thing jumps every so often. Only about 1/4 of an inch, but it's annoying. I don't think there is enough pressure on the foot. Is that normal with a walking foot? Is it supposed to "sit" on top of the fabric?
Big Sigh!
Practice makes perfect I suppose. I've never really liked The Blues since I made it so it doesn't really bother me that much.
I've reset my blog counter to zero so please forgive me if I haven't left a comment on your blog recently.

We interrupt the holidays .....
....... to show you what arrived in the post on Monday.
UFO's? What UFO's?
Only a couple of weeks to go and then you won't be able to see the sewing machine for smoke!
BTW - I found the foot on Ebay and paid the princely sum of £10.90 including P&P.
Go here to find some more bargains from the same company.
Weather hot - very hot. France is on heatwave alert. The pool is getting a lot of use and we're BBQ'ing tonight.
Will be back soon.

Apologies
I AM still alive, but the internet says I'm not.
I ordered something for The Old One on E Bay the other day - it took 3 hours!
We are in the process of sorting it - possibly a satellite broadband connection - so please bear with me.
The Young One has filled the house with friends this summer. We haven't stopped since she got back from the UK so I'll leave you with a taste of what they get up to.
