What Happened to Yesterday?

I am rapidly coming to the conclusion that 11th January is a a special day in a lot of people's lives. Yesterday was my birthday - I think it was also Cynthia's over at Aussi Quilter. To celebrate I went shopping with the girls. Had lunch at a relatively new chinese resto which was brilliant. 12 Euro and as much as you can eat; food was freshly prepared; none of that mush stuff like chinese can get if it is left to its own devices. Didn't buy much as thought this year's Soldes were awful. No fabric either *vbg*. Anyway, Hedgehog over at Life's a Quilt mentioned about how to find out what happened on your birthday by using Wikipedia. Here is my list. 1908 - Grand Canyon National Monument is created. 1922 - First use of insulin to treat diabetes in a human patient. 1935 - Amelia Earhart is the first woman to fly solo from Hawaii to California. 1949 - First recorded case of snowfall in Los Angeles, California. 1973 - Beginning of the Watergate burglars trial. 1992 - Paul Simon is the first major artist to tour South Africa after the end of the cultural boycott. No notable births and the only notable death is Thomas Hardy in 1928! I started hand quilting the Crazy Scraps quilt - its looking good!
