I dreamt her name - do you think she is Sybille? Love the photo of the GRANDE usine for yuour service. Is probably one of those tiny hovels in the shadow of that great factory...
Have you found out her age yet? She looks like late 40s, or early 50s to me. How close am I? She is very elegant. How much was she? I bought one in a similar cabinet, darker, and with a drawer rather than the little shelf with pegs. Inside the green cardboard box there was still the original wax paper. ANd under the wax paper was the original receipt!!! I paid $130 for it, and she was originally bought for 65 quid (which is $130 in real money), almost on the same day and month I bought her. But 50 years later. How amazing is that! It had hardly been used, owned by a couple who never had children, and hse only sewed a few frocks and aprons on it. My Nana and Pop gave Mum one the same for a wedding pressie (in 1951, oh gawd, almost her 60th anniversary, tho Dad died before her 20th), and us kids sewed it to death. We were all making our own clothes when we were little. My next sister down started when she was 7 (!!!), - we had a Governess (also !!!) who had been a model and had a sister who was a designer at trendy etalier so we had boxes of gorgeous designer fabrics to use for dolls clothes/our clothes. Even my two baby brothers sewed at times. I should blog about them really. (Be soemthing to do since I am not sewing...). Hugs, XXXXX

Awesome handbook! And I'm thinking this might be the coolest one, yet! And six is enough? Enough for who? ;) At least this one can be used during power outages. They'll be grateful when their is a blackout and your darning their last pair of clean pants by candlelight! I think it is just awesome!

What does this word mean, enough? I do not understand...
I've never seen that machine or cabinet here in the US. I think it is lovely. The color tan is very elegant, yes? You even have the little rubber treadle mat, it looks like!

What a neat cabinet. I've never seen one like it before. What model is the machine? It also doesn't look familiar. If I only had 6 machines, I'd have to get rid of a few. I did just give away 2 full treadles today. Now I just have 2 full treadles (for the moment). Most of the rest are in the process of being turned into hand cranks, and a few electric machines.

I love the look of your Singer 201 treadle. I'd love to have one of my very own. I have a 201K-4(hand crank) that I treadle, its a wonderfully smooth and quite machine.
