Bonjour Carol!

One of my favourite favourite blogs is Paris Breakfasts.  Carol G has a fixation about ballerine shoes, especially red ones, not to mention macarons, chic handbags worn by chic Parisien women and their chic little dogs.  She paints the most marvellous watercolours of Paris and reading her posts is one of my daily pleasures.

So Carol - this photo is for you.  They are plastic!

A bientôt.

A Fleeting Moment

Got back from holiday yesterday. We had a fantastic time and for once France gave us its all and the weather was superb.

I'm catching up on blogs, emails et al, whilst mowing the lawn, trying to catch up on the weeding and "Facebooking", not to mention the washing!

I'm afraid I won't be able to post much again for the next fortnight as I'm off to the UK this time next week for 2 weeks.

In the meantime how do you fancy seeing one of the sculptures on the promenade at Canet-Plage?

Although I love my camera, it only seems to come into its own when taking photos in bright sunlight with clear blue skies!

The rest of the time I could seriously throw it off the top a mountain!

More as and when.

Not a Lot Happening

Mindlessly piecing the back for Blueberry Fool

Can't really get into this sewing business at the moment.

We are getting ready for the first holiday we've had in years.

The Young One breaks up tomorrow and as a reward for her wonderful marks for her Brevet Blanc (except Maths of course!) we are going to spend a week at a friend's gite near Perpignan. We are taking along a friend of The Young One, the lovely Amandine, and are getting excited.

The weather is at long last warm and sunny and we've got 2 weeks in which to have fun.

Then The Young One goes back to school and I get on the TGV to Paris, take the Metro from Montparnasse to Gare du Nord and take the Eurostar to the UK. Woo hoo 2 holidays in a month!

In the meantime - some photos for you. The 365 Project has really made me use the camera a lot recently.

A sort of bain de soleil at a lake near Nontron

and finally, one of the few items I purchased on Tuesday.

I love it!

Something else .....

...... to suck up computer time.

My friend Sue T, who reads my blog but never comments (shame on you Mrs), pointed me in the direction of the 365 Project.

If your camera goes where ever you go then take a look (here). Great fun, but it will suck up yet more time.

On the plus side, you may be seeing some "different " photos for my Wordless Wednesday slot.

Just so you know.  I'm not piecing or quilting anything at the moment.  The grass has started growing!

Another Top Bites the Dust

Friends round for supper last night and a very very late night, results in not feeling 100% the next day.

So instead of feeling sorry for one's self and declining as the day progresses, I've discovered the best cure in the world.

Get out the sewing machine, and sew, sew, sew!

Ta-da!

Blueberry Fool done!

Yet another flimsy to add to the collection.

Fiddling about on Friday

No. Not really. Just bored!

I've managed to pick up some sort of eye infection in my left eye and can't sew for long stretches of time so feeling a bit grumpy and out of sorts.

However, before the nasty germ decided to stay at our house, The Old One and I had a "qulting day".  Yup.  I finally let him handle fabric and make a few decisions!

To be honest, I was struggling and needed some help so The Old One was allowed to choose fabrics from the solids bin and act as adviser.

The back of my Liberated Amish quilt - a husband and wife effort!

with a very proud husband holding it up
(and getting arm ache)

It needs another border - about 4 or 5 inches - round the outside and then we are ready to baste and quilt.  Woo hoo!

Happy Easter everyone.  I know quilters love chocolate, but don't overdo it!
