I wonder .......

.......... if this is the reason I cannot get any inspiration to sew?

Complete chaos does not inspire my muse, but I did wake up this morning planning the quilt for my niece.

The Young One starts Lycée on Wednesday afternoon.  We will take her there at about 5.00 pm, hand over a fortune for her text books for the coming year, and pick her up again on Friday evening.  The following week we shall deliver her to the door at 8.00 am on Monday morning and won't see her again until Friday evening.

Although I shall probably spend next week in floods of tears, it does mean that finally fnally finally, I may just be able to sort this mess out and start sewing.

On the other hand, I might just give up completely and give in to the mess:

See you soon.

My advice is just pile everything up in the corner - in my experience it's impossible to be creative without making a mess anyway.

Good luck to your niece. I have no idea what motivates quilters. I wish I did.

It would be hard for anyone to be creative under those conditions. Let it sit for another few days, let the tears flow when and as needed, and then you'll probably feel the urge to clean up and get going. Or maybe you'll get going before you finish cleaning up (sewing is always more fun than cleaning or organizing!). Best wishes to you and to The Young One as she begins her new adventure :- )

Giving in to the mess...is that like going over to the "dark side?" If so I've been operating under a cloud for a long time!

Oh, you poor dear. I think boarding school would do me in!

I just cleaned my sewing area by cleaning for 15 min then sewing for 15 min. got quite a lot done actually!
