Is there anyone there?

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder!  After a 10 day break I hope so!

Yuk grey weather.

Yuk cold weather.

Mist in the Valley

Yuk weather FULL STOP

Enough to give anyone the winter blues.

So I'm hand quilting like crazy.

Hand Quilting - Stars

Haven't touched the sewing machine for what seems like weeks.  That string quilt is still on the wall with 2 borders on and I can't seem to get the motivation to finish it off.

So keeping warm and quietly stitching away.

Whoops - that photo wasn't supposed to be that big!

Not sooo yuk weather here, luckily. Usually between living on Lake Constance and working on the banks of the Rhine I have fog enough in early November, but this year we are still having very nice fall weather.

Love the heart.

What a great photo of the mist, though not so much fun to actually be in it I know. I have a quilt that I'm hand quilting too, what a good way to keep warm in the winter. Mine's a free pieced quilt with wonky letters too. I look forward to seeing yours when it's finished.

may you stay warm and cozy under the quilt as you work away, and when the weather clears perhaps you'll see your muse hiding in that fog... :-)

We have had two days of drier but colder weather and it is just so very dark. It does make coming inside to hand quilt very appealing.

I hope the sun comes out! It's been rainy here, too, and tomorrow -- snow showers. :(
Love that first photo with the low clouds sticking in the trees; reminds me of the fog coming over the California coastal range.

It's cold here too but I'm loving it. I can't wait until our first GOOD snow - we've had flurries and they're calling for some tonight and tomorrow but no real accumulation yet. I've been running errands and cleaning the last couple days - have company for the next couple...am looking forward to getting back to work by Sunday or Monday.

All I can say is, I had my bout withgray lethargy and I'm glad it's gone! For the time being anyway; I know it will be back for another visit. ;-P (We had some sunshine today and yesterday. That must have helped!)

Still lurking but slower. My ancient lap top is fading...couldn't comment many times because some of the letters only work intermittant and the darn thing is so sloooooowwwww! So I am way behind. I had a few minutes on the desk top today! I'm doing a lot of hand quilting...bedspread for my granddaughter. Love what you are doing. Keep up the good work!

Your handquilting is beautiful. I love the string quilt you are making. I love how when one sring ends mid string you just added another strip bit. I think we all fall into a slump now and then. It'll pass. Sounds like there are quite a few of us handquilting right along with you.

Today was our grey lethargy day -- went to a fete near Versailles last night with our friends from Paris, so got home quite late.

Got up this morning and wandered down to the marche, and did absolutely blooming nothing the rest of the day...read, pottered about on the computer, and drank hot cocoa. Felt absolutely fantastic to sit and rot -- the first day we've done so in months. Tomorrow's back to the laundry and mopping floors and such.

Wasn't cold at all today, but dismally grey, even if it didn't rain. Expecting snow flurries and a high of 4 on Saturday, but back up to 9 on Sunday, so it will be only a fleeting glance.

Hope we all have sunshine soon!
