Meme Monday

I found this on Ms Jan's blog, who found it on someone else's. So thanks to Ms Jan and to the "someone else". I am a book freak and that is one thing that I really really miss - my books. My one treat when I worked in London was the monthly visit to Hatchards in Piccadilly. I used to allocate the whole of my lunch hour (or two) for a browsing session and always came out having spent far too much. Working within a 15 minute walk of the shop was a priority whenever I changed jobs LOL. Look at the list of books below:
  • Bold the ones you’ve read
  • Italicize the ones you want to read
  • Leave blank the ones that you aren’t interested in.
  • If you are reading this, tag, you’re it!

The DaVinci Code (Dan Brown) Pride and Prejudice (Jane Austen) To Kill a Mockingbird (Harper Lee) Gone With The Wind (Margaret Mitchell) The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King (Tolkien) The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring (Tolkien) The Lord of the Rings: Two Towers (Tolkien) Anne of Green Gables (L.M. I would never have a paycheck if my office was 15 minutes from a book store... it would all be spent on books. Books give you a chance to go places you've never been, meet people you've never seen, and live in times that don't exist....what treasures...

I've had a go at this Clare - makes you think - I'd only read 25% of them and lots I've never even heard of - any particular ones you'd recommend?

I DID have quite a few of those in my collection but then on Saturday took over 300 down to the charity stall (they still take books here, they've stopped in other places because of the work and storage space needed). I'm now left with mainly reference and travel books and feel so much lighter! Now to attack my vynil records.

So many really great reads on that list@ Poisonwood Bible and The Hand maiden's Tale are two I'd reccomend to anyone who hasn't tried them yet. I'll post my edited version of the list tomorrow!

Hi, The Notebook, Power of one and the Outsiders would be ones I've read that you might enjoy on that list. I printed the list and took it to the second hand bookshop mainly wanting "The time travellers wife" and a few others I'd heard of...she didn't have them-and she asked to keep the list! I've now re: printed and am trying the Library tomorrow. Cheers, Tracey
